Hi, Vesna - thanks for stopping by. I do measure occasionally, but I don't actually write them down, so I can't give exact numbers or an exact time frame. I do know that my waist was over 30" and my hips were over 42" before I rediscovered low-carb. Now my waist is getting really close to 29" (about 29 1/4") and my hips are about 40 1/2".

You're looking great! What a difference from October to December. Sure looks like more than 3 pounds difference. Must be your body recomposing itself. Do you do measurements? What do the inches say?

Thanks for posting the series. Keep up the good work!

Hey, I know the feeling :)

I'm 6'1" and weighed about 175 lb in college and reached about 195 lb by age 40. Then at age 42 I got married and my wife suggested I get a physical each year. The doc said my cholesterol was too high at about 210 and that I should go on a low fat diet and take a statin to lower that nasty cholesterol.

Well, you know, stuff happens :) I gained about 50 lb trying to do low fat. Just what the drug-pushing big Pharma wants. My blood pressure was rising, my blood sugar was rising, I was lethargic - signs of metabolic syndrome creeping in. But with Lipitor my cholesterol was 130, so I thought I must be well - a little extra weight could't hurt, right?

I went to a new doctor three years ago who suggested I needed to get back down to 200 lb and she said I should exercise every day. So I started walking 2+ miles every day and switched to a fairly low carb diet, complete with aspartame and splenda. Except I was still addicted to sugar and cheated on weekends. I only managed to lose about 10 lb that year. Then about 2 years ago I found the WAPF and Dr Mercola web pages, dropped the Lipitor, and resolved to break my sugar addiction. I quickly lost 15 lb in three months and then another 5 lb over the next 6 months. I made it down to 213 lb, but I've been on a very slow re-bound over the last year and now I'm back up to 223 lb, but I'm sure more of it is muscle now ;)

Oh, well ... time to cut back a little more on carbs! Good luck on your continuing weight loss. Watch out for the rebound :)

The Santa hat is a tradition in my husband's family, with whom we generally celebrate Christmas. It used to go to the youngest person - my husband for many years, then my sister-in-law. Then finally his mom decided that the hats should get passed around.

Great photo timeline. Thanks for sharing. I guess you still like to wear Santa hats? :-) I have a small head and really straight hair that doesn't "poof" much, so they are always too big for me.
